An Offering To Students

 Introduction to African American Music:

 

  • Provide an overview of the rich history and diverse genres of African American music, including jazz, blues, gospel, hip-hop, and R&B

  • Explore key figures and milestones in African American music history, particularly the great Philadelphia musicians in the aforementioned genre’s highlighting their contributions and significance.

      

Instrumental Instruction:

 

  • Offer instruction in instruments commonly associated with African American music, such as the piano, and trumpet

  • A Music Production class learning how to use Fruity loops and Appleton Live

 

Math Integration:

 

  • Incorporating math particularly in the summer to maintain students skills.  

  • Engage students in activities that demonstrate the mathematical principles behind music composition and performance.

 

4.  Diet and Exercise:

 

  • Educate students about the importance of nutrition for overall health and cognitive function.

 

5.  Brain Optimization:

  • Introduce techniques for enhancing cognitive function and mental well-being, such as mindfulness meditation, deep breathing exercises, and brain games.

  • Explore the connections between music, mathematics, and brain development, emphasizing the benefits of learning music for cognitive skills like memory, attention, and problem-solving.

  • Encourage students to set goals, track their progress, and reflect on how their musical and academic achievements contribute to overall brain optimization.
